"Exit Wounds" ist quasi das Debüt für die runderneuerten Bandkonstellation von The Haunted: Die Band besteht nun aus den Gründungsmitgliedern Jonas Björler (Bass) und Jensen (Gitarre), den ehemaligen Mitgliedern Adrian Erlandsson (Schlagzeug) und Marco Aro (Gesang), sowie ihrem neuesten Mitglied Ola Englund (Gitarre).

Die Single wurde als digitaler Download und als limitierte 7" Vinyl (1000 Kopien aufgeteilt in: 500 schwarze und 300 rote Vinyls in Europa sowie 200 weiße Exemplare in Nordamerika) verfügbar gemacht. Die schwedischen Metal-Pioniere The Haunted machen endlich einige Details zu ihrem kommenden, mit Spannung erwarteten Album publik: Das neue Album wurde erneut mit Tue Madsen im dänischen Antfarm Studio (u.a. Dark Tranquillity, Heaven Shall Burn, Sick Of It All) produziert, trägt den symbolischen bzw. richtungsweisenden Titel "Exit Wounds" und geht musikalisch dementsprechend wieder zurück zu den Thrash Metal Wurzeln der Band zurück. Das Album wird am 22. August über den langjährigen Label-Partner der Band, Century Media Records, veröffentlicht.
The Haunteds zurückgekehrter Sänger, Marco Aro, kommentiert die bevorstehende Albumveröffentlichung und das Coverartwork folgendermaßen:
"Ok my friends, so here we are againÂ…at the threshold of a new The Haunted release. It maybe doesn't sound very exciting to someÂ…butÂ…it is!!! This time around we've found our way back to where we once started! You could say that we've gathered the old crew, both in music and the artwork. Our old friend Andreas "Diaz" Pettersson is back, an amazing artist with a rap sheet which includes the artwork on no less than four The Haunted albums. He always finds a way to put our thoughts into print where he sometimes even scares us a bitÂ…and this release in no different.
We decided on "Exit Wounds" as being a good title for the album given the recent history of the band, but also a sort of a phoenix rising. FUCKING JÄVLA FAGEL FENIX….WE ARE BACK!!!
We are so excited about this little thing we've created! Can't wait to get out there and start playing these songs and for me personally, I could not be more proud of what we have done, I really hope you're going to enjoy it!"
