7“

ALLIGATORS, the "You Ruined Everything" 7" (Indecision Records - Don't
get too close to the water, because an alligator may be lurking. These
Alligators, though, are a bit more friendly, considering the music is
played by three of the four members of Insted with vocal duties carried
out by none other than Roger Miret of Agnostic Front. The music is as
one would expect, with fast, energetic hardcore one would hear on any
Insted record with Miret's signature grunts and growls on songs like "No
Brains, No Balls" and "Times Up - You're Dead".) 5.00

ANGEL HAIR same 7" (gravity - One of the unsung heros of hardcore,
Angel Hair helped perfect the spazzy "Gravity" sound that seems to have
influenced everyone these days, weather or not they know or admit to it.
This 7" showcases the beautiful and chaotic obscurity of an amazing
band. You love it) 4.50

BATTLETORN "burn fast" 7" (mad at the world - "Battletorn erupted onto
the NYC music scene with a bash 'n crash hardcore sound and a
take-no-prisoners attitude. Although they started as a guitar/ drums/ vocals 3
piece, and recently slimmed down to a two piece attack, they make the
most of their minimalist line-up with a full on wall of noise sound.
They've got a classic, ragged hardcore sound. Battletorn will bring their
one-two punch of a live show anywhere-- hardcore shows, metal shows,
rock shows, and even hipster-indie shows, leaving many an audience member
with dropped jaws at the near riotous response they often get. This 7"
follows up a recent LP on Troubleman Records.") 4.00

BLACK SS "same" 7" (third party records - black ss aka BLACK SHEEP
SQUADRON - Seven pissed off songs from this Syracuse hardcore band. Combine
elements of bands like Kill Your Idols, Negative Approach, and Slapshot
and you have a good sense of what this band sounds like. Lots of very
catchy, very angry sing alongs is the name of the game.) 4.00

BLANK STARE "white hell" 7" (third party records - This Boston band
managed to produce one of the most powerful hardcore releases of 2006. The
vocals are vicious and the music is cutting! Just enough mosh to get
the feet moving and enough speed to get the heart pounding. Any the
lyrics are the most dark and hostile ever to grace Third Party. This record
absolutely kills. Boston's Blank Stare get right back into the fast
hardcore they became known for off of the first record. This release is
only three songs but it delivers the goods with plenty of angst and
fury...) 4.00

BLACK FRIDAY 29 / DEATH BEFORE DISHONORsplit 7" (bridge nine records -
Death Before Dishonor return with two brand new tracks and share this
release with Europe's Black Friday '29. After the release of "Friends
Family Forever", Death Before Dishonor has spent the last two years
touring the world, with other infamous acts such as Terror, Agnostic Front
and more. This marks the first studio tracks that Death Before Dishonor
has released in two years and there's no way around the anger and power
that Death Before Dishonor has become known for worldwide. Black Friday
'29 is Germany's up and coming act featuring 3 songs that are a great
introduction to this band that has taken Europe's scene by storm. The
United States is next and these are the first 3 songs released on
American shores before they head over to the U.S. this winter.) 5.00

CRIMPSHRINE "quit talking claude" 7" (lookout - Crimpshrine cut this EP
when they returned from their only US tour with their new bass player
Paul Curran. It's named after an East Bay scenester who talked so much
shit that his name became synonymous with it. These songs, recorded by
Kevin Army, are longer and more musical-one track even features
whistling! Cover artwork by Cometbus contributor Bobby Madness. ) 4.50

GATHER "total liberation" 7" (new eden records - Female fronted vegan
straight edge hardcore band from Northern California. This 7" was
recorded and features an appearance by Scott Crouse of Earth Crisis. For
fans of Harvest, Earth Crisis, Day of Suffering, and Undying.) 5.00

IRON AGE "butchers bill" 7" (looking out - From the depths of indie
rock wasteland Austin, Texas, IRON AGE comes ripping with their furious
debut EP, Butcher's Bill. With a vicious, yet catchy sound immediately
bringing to mind such classic crossover acts as the CRO-MAGS, D.R.I.,
LEEWAY, and THE ICE MEN, IRON AGE is sure to put Texas hardcore on the
map. These three songs serve as a precursor to what will be THE hardcore
album of 2006: Constant Struggle.) 5.00

JR LEAGUE/ LE THEIF split 7“ (square of opposition - JL reps the omaha
acoustic stylings akin to the frantic yearnings of early bright eyes
recordings and youthful energy of a young(er) simon joyner. LT showcases
a more calculated, mature side of the folk coin without sacrificing a
lick of intensity. this limited edition ep presents a wonderul 4 song
introduction for these young artists. only 150 copies will ever be
pressed. Listen to this record while drinking. Alone. In the dark.) 4.00

LA CACAHOUETTE "same" 7" (art of the underground - Buffalo's La
Cacahouette elegantly display why they are one of the leading lights of the
Queen City's underground music scene. The trio has taken the right cues
from shoegazing stalwarts like My Bloody Valentine and Lush and ably
managed a deft balancing act of ethereal melodies and distorted but
beautiful noise. "Cocaine Unicorn" is perfect lesson in dark beauty as Gerald
Thomas' guitar slinks from pretty lines to menacing over Pepper Ochsner
Thomas' sleepy-eyed vocals. An eerie organ break and pulsing synth
comes in halfway through to add wonderfully ominous tension to it all.
"Help is Automatic" is heavy and anthemic with a cascading sheen.) 4.00

LEMURIA "same" 7" (all things ordinary - after we got their great split
LP w/ KIND LIKE OF SPITTING we finally got their new 7" - Did someone
turn the clocks back to 1990? A great CD-EP from a band that looks like
your next door neighbors with a house full of roommates. A four-songer
here with good gal / guy vocals from this trio, who dish out some punky
pop with and indie feel. No CD filler here. Brings back the memories of
the first Superchunk (Chunk) and Discount singles to name a few. A
great new single from a great new band -- that is a must for you 90s indie
types. (RL)-October 2005 Issue #269 Maximum Rock'n'Roll ) 4.00

LION OF JUDAH "Soul Power" 7" (Lockin' Out Records - From the
birthplace of hardcore, DC's LION OF JUDAH prove they owe just as much to I
Against I - era BAD BRAINS as they do to early FUGAZI. Formed in late 2004,
LION OF JUDAH delivers their musically and lyrically thought-provoking
debut EP Soul Power. Sticking to their DC roots of musical creativity
and political aesthetics, LION OF JUDAH shines amongst the sea of
mindless and boring modern hardcore acts. With extensive tour plans after the
EP's release, LION OF JUDAH will most certainly turn heads and open the
eyes of the average hardcore fan in 2005.) 5.00

NO TURNING BACK "same" 7" (reflections - many may have proclaimed
certain death for No Turning Back when, not long after the release of their
best work to date, the "Rise From The Ashes" MCD, three members called
it a day. Martijn, No Turning Back's singer, however has an unbeatable
determination: "Hardcore is my life. This is who I am, and this is what
I care about. I don't give a damn about a career or about material
goods. Hardcore is what I do!" And, not to our surprise, No Turning Back is
back with a new line-up and with a brand new 3 song 7" EP. For those
unfamiliar, No Turning Back is the heavy weight hardcore champion of the
European hardcore scene, and is building a substantial reputation all
over the world. In 8 years, this Dutch 5-some have recorded 3 minis, a
split CD, 2 full-lengths, and the recent MCD "Rise From The Ashes" on
Reflections Records in Europe and Bridge Nine Records in the USA.) 4.50

OM / SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE split 7" (Doomcrunchbuddhafuzzspree.
That’s what Misha Mengleberg would’ve called Om’s side of this 7-inch
single. If you think that once the music hits the air and it can no longer
be “contained,” then your needle hasn’t slid through this groove because
it’s heavier than a flightless bird. Mr. Chasny doesn’t remove anything
from the scale either. His side, “Assyrian Blood,” contains what seems
to be subliminal fuzz/noise blips-- like bugs hitting your windshield
except that you can hear them. Thankfully they coalesce into a stunning
guitar solo that cuts through the chant and goes straight for the
jugular.) 6.00

OUTSPOKEN "the current" 7" (new age - also their amazing seveninch back
in stock) 4.00

RIGHTEOUS JAMS Demo 2003 7" (Anger Management Records - Vicious Boston
straight edge hardcore in the vein of SSD and DYS with some New York
Hardcore influences by way of Straight Ahead and Agnostic Front. Features
ex and current members of Mental, Stop and Think, Close Call, and
R'N'R. This is their legendary demo pressed onto vinyl.) 4.50

RISE AGAINST "ready to fall" 7" (geffen - Ready To Fall is a single off
of Rise Against's "The Sufferer & The Witness," imported from the UK
and on colored vinyl. The B-side is a live track taken from a show at the
Troubadour in Los Angeles.) 5.50

SINKING SHIPS „meridian“ 7“ (run for cover - Sinking Ships are melodic
hardcore from Seattle. The 7" has five tracks of their signature sound
while the CD compiles the 7" and out of print demo with 12 songs in
all. For fans of Stay Gold, Count Me Out, and Champion.) 5.00

TERROR "Life & Death: The Demo 7" (Reaper Records Terror's out of print
four song demo CD now available as a limited (2000 copies) 7".) 5.00

TEAM CHOCOLATE "same" 7" (all things ordinary - Team Chocolate is the
ultra catchy creation of singer/songwriter duo Sheena Ozzella(Lemuria)
and Eric Ellman(Grade Grubbers). They are from the gloomy Buffalo, NY
and play lo-fi, acoustic bedroom pop with sugary melodies about love,
loss, and longing. The insert is a cut and paste style zine filled with
lyrics and photos that resembles a scrapbook of their time making the
record. The overall package looks great.) 4.00

THIS MACHINES WILL TAKE OVER "same" 7" (stickytranslucentgoo - "a
great blend of melodic indie/emo and power-driving melodic hardcore. two
songs, black vinyl, 220 copies. sealed papermesh sleeve, stenciled,
spraypainted and numbered by hand.") 3.50

VSS, the "same" 7" (gravity - this is ex angel hair, pre slaves/
pleasure forever - this is just good and special. nobody cared when they have
been around and its a shame! fill the hole in your collection ... )
4.00

Xo SKELTONS Asthmagasm 7" (Malfunction RecordsThis is a super limited
EP run on color vinyl of 2,500 total. It features members of Give Up The
Ghost and Some Girls. For fans of The Blood Brothers, Unbroken, and The
Faint.) 5.00

"itherandthithering waters of" 10inch (sticky sticky - this is the debut
from that band aus OKLAHOMA that reminds me sometimes on CATENA COLLAPSE
if the singer is speaking. I think people that like older HOT CROSS &
CITY OF CATERPILLAR gonna love this. Its an amazing debut - limited to

A DAY CALLED ZERO "same" 12" (gravity - this another classic GRAVITY
release from the 90ies - we got a handful back in stock and if you dig
all those early mid 90ies stuff - you can´t live w/out that record!!!
just listen to it .. ) 10.00

AMPS FOR CHRIST "Thony Path" LP (Vermiform) - AFC's 2nd LP, from 1997.
Twenty songs that range from traditional ballads to experimental fuzz
blasts. Says Barnes: Things that are bitchin' take time. Art by Neil
Burke.) 10.00

ARAB ON RADAR "soak in the saddle" LP (skin graft - BACK IN PRINT ON
VINYL!!! Powerful and cathartic, ARAB ON RADAR is a unique and
unprecedented brand of psycho-neurological terrorism. This strain is the most
dangerous, now free-er, more alive and unrooted, any semblance to daddy's
rock’n’roll is long gone. Live Arab On Radar generate more energy and
more hysteria on stage than any band you have ever seen. Screen printed
LP jackets to boot.) 15.50

BARONESS "second" LP (hyperrealist - we got a handful of their OOP
second LP - Baroness return to the studio with producer Phillip Cope to
record their sophomore EP, appropriately titled "Second". "Second" shows
another side of Baroness with less straightforward rock and more
tech-heavy instrumentals, tempo changes and psychedelic interludes while at
the same time capturing the energy and intensity of their live show.
Three songs clocking in at 21 minutes. We also have the first one in stock)
11.50

BURST "Origo + Prey On Life" 2xLP (garden of exile - Sweden's brightest
metalcore hopefuls Burst plow headlong into eternity with their
sophomore effort Origo. With flowing grace and force of conviction, Origo's
lush layers of sound crush and caress in equal measure. Fragile melodic
vocals intertwine with explosive screams, and waves of guitar weave
songs as expressive and elaborate as human emotion itself. When the Wave
Broke and Immateria exude class and the confidence of a band poised for
greatness. this is a limited vinyl pressing of their two previous
albums. get it while you can – some copies back in stock) 17.50

COMADRE "the youth" LP (dood records - finally out on VINYL. those
sweethearts from redwood city (home of spazz. hahaha) have blown me away
everytime we played w/ them - they have been honest and full of passion
while the played... the kids went crazy and it has been a great
experience every night. So this is their first release. It is 10 songs of loud,
chant-filled, HELLA heart-felt hardcore punk all writen, recorded, and
sang by kids who live radical. It originally came out in October 2004
in a spray painted/hand-assembled CD jewel case, along with a
hand-assembled/photo copied booklet. now the pressed it on red/ white splattered
vinyl and packed it in a beautiful gatefold cover. Limited to 500
copies ... and thats what teh sputnik mag said - Comadre sounds like Saetia
if they didn't take themselves so seriously, with the dancey, sassy
stylings of The Blood Brothers. Am I digging the scene points hole bigger
and bigger by drawing these comparisons? It'd seem so from this
apparent name dropping but Comadre is definitely above that. Their sound,
which is still gawky and goofy like an immature 14-year old, holds great
promise.) 10.50

CONVERGE "no heros" LP (deathwish - "Since breaking out of the hardcore
pack with the savage onslaught of 2001's "Jane Doe", Converge have been
the band to watch, pacesetters who have consistently set the next
creative level in aggressive music; their Epitaph debut "You Fail Me" was
named one of 2004's 10 essential releases in Alternative Press. Now comes
"No Heroes", an album that brilliantly combines the textural sonics of
"You Fail Me" with the brutal assault of "Jane Doe"; the intensity of
opening track "Heartache" will simply peel the paint from the walls.
With "No Heroes", Converge and producer/guitarist Kurt Ballou have created
a masterpiece of raw emotion and adrenaline frenzy, destined to sit
alongside other touchstone albums of the hardcore genre." - from the
label. We got colored vinyl. Black white swirl) 13.00

DOMINIC "same" LP (yummy/ ape must not kill/ lilac sky - "The band was
simply established to create and perform music we love. We're a band
that try to book our own tours and concerts, and encourage other bands to
do the same. There is not much future in sitting on your asses waiting
for a big record deal. You achieve the most and get the best progress
by doing things on your own." There you go. Dominic have their shit
together. Plus, they rock pretty fucking hard. They are into it for all the
right reasons, and they do everything with a purpose and passion. tom
reitmeyer) 9.50

FORCED FORWARD "same" LP (Collapse Records - DC has always been known
as a city ahead of its time, be it in ideas, art, politics or music.
Forced Forward is likewise ahead of their time, pushing a sound that is at
once familiar and brand new. Their heavy guitar crunch and driving bass
bring to mind bands like 108 and Threadbare - now compound that with
the urgency of DC forefathers Bad Brains and you start to get an idea of
where Forced Forward is heading. Rich Miles' vocals have the slashed
and burnt feeling of Ressurection and even Rorschach, not just expressing
desperation, but making you feel it. Team this with lyrical
sensibilities and introspection somewhere between Marginal Man and Battery, and DC
has a new force to be reckoned with." -from the label. Now available on
vinyl with alternate artwork.) 12.00

GRAF ORLOCK/ GREY SKULL split LP (dood records - Graf Orlock and
Greyskull bring you a ridiculous combination of brutality and creativity in
this split 12 inch LP, DVDs vs. Books.Graf Orlock pushes the boundaries
of the burgeoning cinema-grind genre, imploding with 7 songs of anger
and abuse confronting themes of inter-planetary colonialism and
psychotic delusion. Greyskull emerges as an incredibly pissed and informed book
that you can't put down. Contained in an amazing backpack suitable for
any school, church, or funeral event.back in stock) 11.50

HOPE CONSPIRACY "death knows your name" LP (malfunction - The Hope
Conspiracy are back after a four year silence. "Death Knows Your Name" was
recorded and engineered by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Modern Life Is War)
at Godcity Studios. "Death Knows Your Name" marks the first recorded
appearance of Tim Cossar (Give Up The Ghost, Bars) with Hope Con, as well
as the return of guitarist Neeraj Kane (The Suicide File) to the song
writing fold. "Death Knows Your Name" is a stark and mesmerizing chapter
in The Hope Conspiracy legacy. From the haunting first notes of "They
Know Not," to the earth shaking power of "Stolen Days" the unforgiving
heaviness and rage of the album is awe inspiring. The songs lunge and
writhe with immeasurable emotion and inner turmoil like all great art
does. Serving as a true amalgamation of their classic "piss and vinegar"
approach and a new found epic maturity.) 12.50

LAIR OF THE MINOTAUR "ultimate destroyer" LP (southern lord - now
available as a limited vinyl. an epic and undeniable monolith hath been
unleashed upon thee earth... behold! the second album from chicago's
warlords lair of the minotaur. 'ulitmate destroyer' bulldozes down the same
path as their critically acclaimed and now classic debut 'carnage'.
blistering riffs, and skull-crushing rhythms played with an apocalyptic
aesthetic and complimented perfectly with horrific lyrical vengeance.
'ultimate destroyer' in whole is faster, yet slower and more vicious then
anything the band has previously done. from the maniacal speed of 'lord
of butchery' to the death metal obsessed groove of 'behead the gorgon'
to the mammoth doom of album closer 'the hydra coils upon this wicked
mountain' this album covers alot of purely metal, hallowed ground. lair
of the minotaur feature members of pelican and 7,000 dying rats. on
southern lord.) 15.00

LABRECQUE, PAUL & VALERIE WEBB „trees, chants and hollers“ LP (eclipse
- Cold nights roll in during the early parts of spring, reminding us
that we're not quite out of the woods yet; there is still work to be
done. The contrast of warm, sun-filled days and nights where you can still
see your breath is a microcosm for what we all consistently feel in our
lives. It's the temporary gratification and beauty that keeps us
hopeful, but the desolate darkness that keeps us honest. Valerie Webb and
Paul Lebrecque offer up ten meditations on this consciousness divided.
'Trees, Chants, & Hollers' is a magical ride through thick and thin. It's
the culmination of knowing that in order to reach the place you long
for, you have to do the dirty work first. Webb's angelic voice lifts the
spirits of the record, offering a delicate balance to some of the more
workmanlike music. These two forces work as a brilliant partnership as
a banjo that finds itself high in the leaves of majestic oaks,
searching for the haunted flute squeals that float overhead. This is a
beautiful, dense album in so many ways; it offers up something new with every
listen.” Originally self-released in a deluxe edition of 100 copies.)
16.00

LOOK BACK AND LAUGH "first" LP (lengua armada - Look Back And Laugh
features members of Yaphet Kotto and Dead And Gone, but they don't sound
anything like either band really. Instead they are going with a rough
and tumble early '80s hardcore sound. Well done and what you would expect
from seasoned hardcore musicians. Very nice.) 11.50

MAGRUDER GRIND/ SHITSTORM split LP (robotic empire - split LP (robotic
empire - Now Available on vinyl! Showcases two of the most ferocious
members of the grind/powerviolence scenes in many years. Magrudergrind
bring the thrash/crossover influenced grinding mayhem while Shitstorm
terrorize with gruffer, speed/death metal-tinged destruction together
creating one of the most abrasive split albums ever conceived. With no
direct mimicry, these two young trios manage to walk in the same shoes worn
by grind greats like Discordant Axis and Pig Destroyer, both delivering
absolutely pummeling performances with only the use of guitar, drum and
voice. back in stock) 11.00

MGR "nova lux" LP (viva hate records – LP version of the NEUROT record
- With Mustard Gas and Roses, guitarist Mike Gallagher (of renowned
dirge architects ISIS) unveils a compendium of sparse ruminations culled
from years of underground musical experience. An artistic -and entirely
instrumental- departure from band-based disseminations, Gallagher's
solo debut is nonetheless in accord with the general aesthetic of ISIS,
exploring the same telekinetic atmosphere via more personal and austere
means. As such, Nova Lux is a sonic narrative of post-rock splendor
underscored by barely perceptible shifts in the aural firmament, the
perpetual inertia of ringing notes, and the low hum of inevitability. The
five ominous instrumental passages contained within are headphone music
for the drone-damaged; the stirring, vaguely sinister murmurs of a
half-remembered occurrence. Punctuated by the pedal steel of Greg Burns (Red
Sparowes/Halifax Pier) on track one and the expert beat manipulation of
Oktopus (Dalek) on track four, Nova Lux conjures up a nebulous psychic
landscape in which the indefinable never takes shape, where the horizon
slips in and out of focus and existential trepidation levitates just
above the hearing threshold. Gallagher's guitar-based compositions are
the proverbial ghosts in the machine, revealing an expert convergence of
human expression and electronic technology that plumbs the murky depths
and dim corners of elemental consciousness: Echoes of past experience
take shape, floating across the stereo field before dissolving quietly
into the ether like half-formed shadows at sundown.NOW AVAILBLE ON
EUROPE ...) 13.00

NO TURNING BACK "damage done" LP (anger managment - New York Hardcore
bone crushing breakdowns, grooving fast parts and remorseless vocals
which boil and bubble at the surface like lava waiting to explode from a
volcano. Now available on vinyl!) 11.50

NORTT "Ligfærd" picture LP (viva hate records - Now, no one expected
anything upbeat and happy from Nortt, but this is beyond depressive. The
music is even bleaker and more lifeless than ever before. It's like a
funeral that is only attended by ghosts and mourning spirits. In other
words, this is one of the most disheartening doom metal releases ever.
There are less black metal elements than before. They have been replaced
by a quiet ambient sound. In fact the closest musical comparison would
have to be Funerary Dirge. Minimalistic notes echo and bring on the
loneliness. At the same time there is this crude guitar sound that
contains the soul's passive pain. There is no hope, just latent suffering that
slowly surfaces.) 13.00

OM "conference of the birds" LP (holy mountain - Comprised of two songs
that build on OM's use of cyclical rhythm, riff, and vocal intonation,
the duo's new album Conference of the Birds blends metal, chant, drone,
dub, and psychedelia. The band's lyrics expound upon the structure of
the universe, potentiality, and freedom from the physical body.
Engineered by Billy Anderson and produced by the band, Conference of the Birds
progresses beyond their debut, Variations on a Theme, with more fully
realized songwriting and production. Believe me when I say you could
found a religion based on this sort of music ... truly transporting.)
16.00

OM "Variations On A Theme" LP (holy mountain - OM reunites one of the
most powerful rhythm sections in rock music: Al Cisneros [bass, vocals]
and Chris Hakius [drums], both ex-members of the legendary Sleep.
Variations on a Theme is comprised of three long songs employing a series of
rhythmic chants whose cadence-like textural drive conveys flight. The
album's numerous lyrics serve as symbolist vehicles to a state outside
the field of time and space. Variations on a Theme is a series of
vibrations and flow. The opening track, "On The Mountain at Dawn" is the
thematic blueprint of the entire album; a transportive series of
differentiated verse with sets of solid groove. "Kapila's Theme" furthers the
motif while the closer "Annapurna" breaks the spell, where the final wash
of sound reflects the infinite. The triumphant return of two-thirds of
Sleep!) 16.00

OUTSPOKEN „a light in the dark“ LP (new age records - Four friends got
together at the start of 1990, and little did they know that they had
formed a band that would dominate the Hardcore scene until their demise
in) 10.00

ONE AM RADIO/ WIND UP BIRD „nigth falls“ split LP(Paramnesia Records -
A beautiful split record between two of the most talented bands playing
music today. The One AM Radio brings together guitar, violin, and
stunning vocals to create an unparalleled ten minute song, "All I Can Recall
Is the Haunting." The Wind-Up Bird uses his voice, guitar, trumpet,
violin, and laptop to mix an incredible fourteen minute soundscape. Both
bands also remix each others songs, holding onto the essence of the
original but truly morphing them into their own sound and style. The most
fitting soundtrack to every long walk home you've ever taken, and every
moment of contemplation and reflection on the time that has passed you
by. It can be the accompaniment to the greatest times of your life and
the saddest - but in a way that leaves you with acceptance and, more
importantly, hope.) 10.00

PARTY OF HELICOPTERS "please believe it" LP (bifocal media - From the
very beginning in 1995 the Party of Helicopters have been a fist in the
face of the indie/hardcore world. Refusing to be tagged to any specific
genre, the party of helicopters have always made it a point to combine
their individual and eclectic taste to create a hybrid of metal, punk,
and pop for a sound that is truly original. The band has been compared
to a diverse group of artists such as the Pixies, Iron Maiden, Don
Caballero, the Smiths, Sunny Day Real Estate, Black Sabbath, My Bloody
Valentine and Led Zeppelin.) 12.50

PISSED JEANS "Shallow" LP (parts unknown - crawl out from under
hardcore's seedy underbelly to blast out eight tracks of droning punk noise.
Calling to mind the warped visions of Fang, Flipper, and Stickmen With
Rayguns, the Jeans point a dirty mirror at themselves, with fractured
tales of woe in front of a harsh, blown-out backdrop. Recommended for
people who never get out of bed, pop their zits with sweaty fingers and
didn't have a date for the prom.) 13.50

PG. 99 "document #8" LP (robotic empire - the reissue is finally
available and done just right! Arguably one of the most important punk rock
albums of the last decade, Virginia's PG.99 shine their brightest here
in the finest 27 recorded minutes of their much heralded existence. With
a plethora of releases only rivaled by their staggering eight member
status, PG.99 managed to amalgamate almost every heavy-music genre into a
tornado of punk rock fury. Not punk in a mohawk-mania sense, but with
the unbridled raw spirit of youthful rebellion and passion. As one of
the only recent bands to exist with a true sense of danger, "Document #8"
is PG.99's opus to aggressive and creative music. Originally recorded
and mixed in a whirlwind three days, this reissue contains a full
remixing by the band and engineer Kurt Ballou (CONVERGE), now including two
bonus tracks previously used on a split with CITY OF CATERPILLAR. All
coupled with the original artwork enhanced by a fine alternate layout and
large 16-page booklet, this reissue finally does justice to the legacy
that is PG.99. limited to 800 and sold out already .. last copies!)

PHOENIX BODIES "Raise The Bullshit Flag" LP (Slave Union Records -
After countless splits and comps, Indiana's Phoenix Bodies have finally
graced us with their debut full-length recording. As with previous
releases, every style under the massive umbrella of "heavy music" is perfectly
mashed together to give the listener an experience comparable to bare
knuckles pressed against a belt sander, mixing elements of Converge with
bands like Orchid and Usurp Synapse. In an age where too few bands are
saying anything worth hearing, this album is more than 10 tracks of
blistering music; it's also a grand calling out of pretty much the entire
human race.) 11.00

PINBACK "summer in abaddon" LP (touch & go - summer in abaddon is the
first full length for touch & go for pinback. it was recorded by the duo
in zachs home studio over the course of 2003, and it truly captures
pinbacks essence. although it may seem like gentle pop music at first
encounter, its brilliance is slowly revealed upon repeated listens. songs
are buoyant and lively at times, melancholy and dark at others, and
always resonate with an underlying intensity. Back in stock) 14.00

PINK RAZORS "wating to wash up" LP (robotic empire - Rebuilding
pop-punk from the ground up is by no means an easy task, but Richmond, VA's
PINK RAZORS have boiled down the genre into its purest elements and
improved upon it leaps and bounds. With no song crossing the two-minute
mark, each track is packed with memorable melodies over fast, powerhouse
rhythms. This all happens so fast you barely know what hit you, but
still manage to get the songs firmly stuck inside your head.) 11.50

PYRAMIDS "Following the Tracks, Forcing Motion Through Phases" LP
(aramnesia - Epic in nature, the debut from Pyramids blends churning, chord
laden bass, pummeling drums, dark guitars and frantic vocals. A
whirlwind guide through the dreams we don't care to remember in the morning.
Ex-members of A Petal Fallen and The Holy Fucking Spirit. This also
includes video footage and comes packaged in a chipboard case made from
100% recycled material. For fans of Shotmaker, Portraits of Past and
Ampere. this is the limited LP version of it w/ a sexy gatefold cover. looks
and sounds so good. some copies back in stock) 11.00

RED SPAROWES/ GRAILS split LP (robotic empire - Having both released
epic full-lengths for Neurot Recordings, these two instrumental groups
team up for a split release courtesy of Robotic Empire. Red Sparowes
boast members of Isis and Neurosis with both bands featured here playing a
mellow, dreamy brand of rock that is always multi-layered and
innovative, bringing to mind such bands as Godspeed You Black Emperor and
Mogwai.) 13.00

REDS Is:Means LP (pure pain sugar/ ape must not kill/ clean plate BACK
IN STOCK - Following up their widely-praised demo, REDS debut LP
"is:means" tears onto the scene with 10 songs of unrelenting hardcore with a
rock-n-roll lining. Take a bit of 90s "emotional" hardcore (people have
suggested Former Members of Alfonsin, Moss Icon, Cornelius) and add
some head nodding rock riffs and you'll start to get the idea. The songs
fly along at furious speeds, rarely letting up, and never losing their
furor. The lyrics, mostly shouted and screamed but occasionally sung,
strive to pointedly connect the personal and political - showing clear
anger and frustration yet never letting go of positivity and optimism.
Always on the verge of falling into chaos, REDS manages to hold it all
together and focus their energy into a roaring collection of passion and
intensity. Waking Records' profits from this record will go towards
relief and rebuilding efforts for the impoverished victims of Hurricane
Katrina in my (Evan - Waking Records guy and vocalist for REDS) home
state of Louisiana. Screenprinted covers) 10.00

REPOS, the "Hearts And Heads Explode" LP (Youth Attack Records -
hicago's The Repos, which contain members of Charles Bronson and Das Oath,
self-destruct with their second raging LP, clocking in at 11 minutes and
36 seconds over 19 songs. Burly vocals and fast three-chord riffs run
throughout this record, which make it a good fit on Youth Attack, but
would also fit in well on the Gloom Records Roster.) 14.00

ROBOT WHALES "Vehicle" (Collapse Records - At times, hardcore as a
music format seems to stagnate - trends come in, a sound is "it", and all
of a sudden the trade off is originality and new ideas. In the face of
this, Robot Whales debuts with a sound all their own - blending a groove
heavy sound with an atmospheric quality without leaving behind the
influences that ground them solidly in the hardcore realm - think Inside
Out and Burn colliding with Handsome and Quicksand. The sense that you
are listening to something unique and new is present - rarely does a
record come out that strikes as hard to your brain as "Vehicle" -
infectious is the starting point, addicted is where it leaves you. For anyone
who's grown weary with the retread records, Robot Whales delivers." -from
the label. Now available on vinyl.) 12.00

SEVEN STOREY MOUNTAIN "leper ethics" LP (art monk construction - Seven
Storey Mountain is an indie rock band from Phoenix, AZ. Formed in 1994,
they have several releases on various independent record labels .. if
you love all those old mid90ies bands ala MINERAL etc . this is yours!
so good) 10.50.

SHOCK ONES "Facetious Folly Feat" LP (Revelation Records - Seattle's
newest residents and Bellingham's favorite sons, Shook Ones, have
allowed their sound to branch out into dynamic and new territory. Their
poppiness exudes on "Facetious Folly Feat," charging through these eleven
new songs with an ease and aggression that harkens back to the days of
the Descendents and Black Flag.) 11.50

SLINT spiderland LP (touch & go – back in stock this classic album from
1991. although this kentucky combo had a short lifespan, its influence
has been extraordinary, presaging the underground 'math-rock'
revolution and spawning spinoffs such as the for carnation and king kong with
members playing with palace brothers, tortoise and a multitude more. but
don't go thinking that the foursome is a mere footnote: the bracingly
dense, dizzyingly complex songs that vein this, their second full-length
release, perfectly capture the smarter face of early-'90s thug-rock.
yes, slint's sound is descended from punk, but its members - particularly
guitarist brian mcmahan - never subscribed to the 'keep it simple,
stupid' philosophy. 'spiderland' is so rife with breakneck tempo changes,
off-kilter chord progressions, and bizarro-world themes, you'd be
hard-pressed to go a listen without discovering something new. an immense
album that every home should own.) 11.00

SLINT „tweez“ LP (touch & go - back in stock the first recordings from
slint originally released in 1989 on jennifer hartman records and
tapes. 'tweez' seems to be the product of anxious brilliant minds, it sweeps
in and out of different styles and approaches to subject to the point
that it might seem disjointed in a way that 'spiderland' isn't. 'tweez'
is more of an angsty album, it's raw and aggressive with lots of noise.
any slint record is essential for your record collection.) 11.00

STRAIGHT TO HELL "Commence The Apocalypse" LP (Gloom Records- Straight
to Hell are back with their last tracks ever, in the form of 12
scorching anthems. The same frantic drumming, and wailing leads reminiscent of
your favorite Japanese hardcore heroes, as well as the pounding force
of Swedish greats like Anti-Cimex. This 12" is limited to just 500 hand
numbered copies, with custom screen printed covers done by Aaron Ulcer.
just a handful - sorry for the price.) 13.00

SUBMERGE "same" LP (DESTRUCTURE - this is their new 12 - destrcutive
chaotic french hardcore w/ all the cliche I love. Check it out - if you
have a passion for all those french emo bands w/ a little edge of metal.
Its good - but unfortunatly not from america. But it´s on the of one of
the AMANDA WOODWARD dudes ... hahaha - and colored vinyl!) 7.50

THREE MILE PILOT "same" LP (gravity - this LP is just beautiful.
specially the BRIAN ENO cover "by the river" ... i can´t wait to hear their
new upcoming album on TOUCH & GO next year. This is pre BLACK HEART
PROCESSION ... get it. its makes your winter more bright) 9.50

THESE ARMS ARE SNAKES "easter" LP (second nature - Seattle's These Arms
Are Snakes present their second full-length for Jade Tree and the
pinnacle of a culmination of a more structured yet experimental songwriting
process for the band. Throughout this record, heavy guitars and
keyboards get thrown into punk grooves that bring to mind such ground-breaking
groups as Drive Like Jehu and The Jesus Lizard. Now available on vinyl
from Second Nature.) 12.500

TEXTURES " Drawing Circles" LP (garden of exile - TEXTURES, the most
mind-bending Dutch experience, not available in a coffee house or the red
light district is all about layering and transitions from calm, serene
passages to aggressive hyped up stuff. Merging the polyrhythmic attack
of Meshuggah with Devin Townsend influenced soaring melody and stacks
of imagination to an epic effect. limited to 500 copies) 11.50

ULTRA DOLPHINS "why are you laugh" LP (robotic empire - This 24-minute
collection is an exciting exception to the mass-movements of the indie
underground... three guys playing fierce and incredibly passionate rock
music. The bulk of the material was recorded at Inner Ear studios in
Washington, DC (FUGAZI, MINOR THREAT, THE MONORCHID, RITES OF SPRING) and
one track at the Recorditorium in Richmond, VA (STOP IT!!, VCR, WOW
OWLS!) then re-mastered at Silver Sonya (SHUDDER TO THINK, Q AND NOT U) so
you know that every song has high intensity production. This collection
will definitely appeal to a variety of fans, including those fond of
SHELLAC, DRIVE LIKE JEHU, BOREDOMS, FUGAZI, LED ZEPPELIN, FRODUS, THE
JESUS LIZARD and BLACK SABBATH.) 11.00

V/A FEAR OF SMELL LP (Vermiform) - Being a 1992 compilation featuring
NATION OF ULYSSES, TIT WRENCH, RORSCHACH, MAN IS THE BASTARD,
SUGARSHOCK, NATIVE NOD, INFEST, 1.6 BAND, MEREL, MOSS ICON, HELL NO and spoken
word by members of BORN AGAINST, THE MANACLED and CITIZENS ARREST. )
10.00

VERSOMA „life during wartime“ LP (robotic empire – back in stock. The
members of Philadelphia's Versoma boast a healthy resume, having
previously been in bands such as Lickgoldensky, Anodyne, Hot Cross, Orchid and
more. On this EP, they have created a wall of guitars mixed with
desperate and wailing vocals, forming a truly unique landscape that somehow
brings together a wide range of influences from My Bloody Valentine to
Neurosis to Sonic Youth.) 11.00

WHY elephant eyelash LP (anticon - a beautiful and beguiling new album
from why? the record is a lush and realized work of bright colours and
dark corners. 'elephant eyelash' is a highly original, inventive piece
of work that casts a wide net, encompassing elements of pop, indie,
hip-hop and post rock combing them with melodic ingenuity and smile
inducing lyricism. on anticon) 16.00

WINDMILLS BY THE OCEAN „same“ LP (robotic empire – back in stock. This
recording, from August of 2003, was recently unearthed and is finally
available to the masses. Windmills By The Ocean was a project band
comprised of gentlemen who would go on to be in Isis, Red Sparowes, and
Anodyne, among others. These men created music that combined the darkness
and heaviness of bands like Sunn and Earth with a more melodic element
borrowed from Sigur Ros.) 11.00

WOLVES "Art.Culture.Work" LP (coalition - Featuring two former members
of Orchid as well as the Orchid roadie, Wolves come on strong with
twelve tracks of modern sounding hardcore that is inspired by revolution
through art movements. Art for the revolution rather than art for art's
sake. Musically they are somewhere in the post chaotic hardcore
universe, but certainly not rockin' emo or thrash. Interesting and definitely a
labor of love.back in stock) 11.00

YOUNG WIDOWS "Settle Down City" LP (Auxiliary Records - The three
members of Young Widows emerged from the dissolution of Breather Resist with
a new vision steeped in dark, brooding grooves and moody post-punk.
From the reverb-drenched inspiration of Regulator Watts/Hoover to the bass
and drums lock-groove perfected by Shellac and The Jesus Lizard, Young
Widows gladly wears it's influences on it's sleeve. The signature
inventive guitar work of Evan Patterson (Breather Resist, Black Cross, The
National Acrobat) is intact and at its peak here, while the rhythm
section lays down syrup-thick grooves, recalling Pacific Northwest
heavyweights (think Melvins, Karp, even Nirvana) and British post-punk, ala Gang
Of Four. "Settle Down City" contains 11 songs of rocksolid, grooving,
hypnotic, heavy, noise-rock anthems. This is a new band, a new sound, a
new idea.) 11.50

CD

BOLZ´N „spaltfunktion“ CD (react w/ protest - this is some very fucking
promising techgrindcore.talking about majorly intense and frantic grind
with wildly chaotic drumming that barely seems to follow the same beat
as the guitars, which are ultra fast and a little noisy, but also super
detuned for added heaviness. Also in place are layered
screaming/growling female vocals (some of the best I've ever heard), crazy technical
riffs with plenty of blasting speeds, and lots of weird chord phrasings
and rhythmic patterns that really fuck with the structures and make for
an odd listen. you ve been warned.) 9.50

DARKEST HOUR "mark of judas" CD (art monk construction - This DC area
band couples Swedish/Euro metal guitar riffing with the raw power and
energy of the most aggressive qualities of US hardcore. These head
banging opuses mark a new chapter in continuing the evolution of extreme
music, not heard since the demise of At The Gates in 1996.) 12.50

DOVE YELLOW SWANS „LIVE DURING WAR CRIMES“ #2 CD (release the bats
#16 - "The second volume, this time a collection of darker and more
sinister live recordings taken from their tour in Europe early 2006. 42
black minutes of creepy soundscapes painting a depressive picture of a
world going down in dust and ashes. The 5 songs all has a weird desperate
and dense apocalyptic feel to them, making this a haunting and very
bleak experience. Trashy dark rumblings and total coldness. Again very
well-edited stuff by Pete Swanson, works more like a full proper album than
just a collection of random recordings. Amazing! Comes packaged in a
Dual Plover full color sleeve with black felt. Cover drawings by Liz
Harris of Grouper.") 9.50

HE WHO CORRUPTS Microeconomics CD (Level Plane Records"As any high
performing organization would, Hewhocorrupts continues to out perform past
offerings by putting forth a bold and innovative new 3" credit card
sized CDEP, appropriately titled "Microeconomics". Further capitalizing
(no pun intended) on their 2006 strategic marketing campaign "Knowing
Your Wallet", "Microeconomics" has pushed packaging standards, opting to
be encased in an actual wallet instead of the industry standard jewel
case. Complete with a receipt, wallet size band photos, and the ever so
important business card, analysts have already started to recast HWC
earnings predictions for the 4th quarter. "Microeconomics" was the
brainchild of the international alignment of several industry powerhouses
including: Level Plane, Eugenics Record Label, Hewhocorrupts Inc., Mike
Fitzgerald Records, and Bloom Explode." - From the label) 9.00

I ROBOT et cetera CD (immigrant sun - he complete discography of this
screamingly intense band. It contains their demo, self titled 7", split
7" with The Cable Car Theory, a live set, plus a few unreleased studio
tracks. Featuring members of Devola, expect heavy, raw, and powerful
sounds with a dash of melody thrown in for good measure.) 12.00

metalheads:5 new tracks (the songs meant for the comic Pure) 4 re-mastered

Thau (Scum and Pure) - there will be limited vinyl Verion of this record
coming out on VENDETTA in around 6 weeks - keep your eyes open!) 12.50

MOSS ICON "Lyburnum" CD (Vermiform - Maryland's MOSS ICON are on their
best behavior with this 1993 album, forsaking their elegiac hippie
meltdowns for elegiac hardcore meltdowns. Although guitarist Tonie Joy went
on BORN AGAINST, UNIVERSAL ORDER OF ARMAGEDDON, LAVA, THE GREAT
UNRAVELING and THE CONVOCATION OF, it is this band's legacy that has continued
to dog him well into adulthood, like a drunk driving arrest.) 11.00

RIGHTEOUS JAMS "Business As Usual" CD (abacus - Righteous Jams came
together when vocalist Joey Contrada (ex-Invasion/Stop And Think) met
Elgin James (former Wrecking Crew/454 Big Block vocalist) in a thwarted
robbery and ensuing street fight. The two became quick friends and soon
were playing alongside fellow Invasion/Mental members Justin Detore and
Derek Scace. RJ's blend of old school hardcore influences such as SSD,
Bad Brains, Black Flag and Cro-Mags and positive, self-affirming lyrics
instantly turned them into a crowd favorite and a staple of the
American hardcore scene. Since then it's been nonstop for RJ, who've toured
with the Dropkick Murphys, Madball, H2O, Sworn Enemy (as well as numerous
tours on their own), and have signed to Abacus and started recording
their second full length, entitled "Business As Usual," VINYL VERSION is
coming soon!) 13.50

SUIS LA LUNE „QUIET, PULL THE STRINGS!“ CD (release the bats - The
debut album from this young band from Sweden. Bursting out like a louder
and more chaotic Ordination Of Aaron and adding elements from bands like
Constatine Sankathi, Suis La Lune sometimes sounds like a lost gem of
the mid 90´s. Melodic interludes, jangly guitars, quiet/loud parts,
desperate vocals that is ranging between talky rantings and intense
screaming... Suis La Lune combines this sound with a more epic and complex
song structure (think of early Mogwai or bands like Envy) and manages to
create a very special atmosphere. 10 songs of heartfelt and emotive
punkrock. 2 of the members also plays in Mixtapes & Cellmates.") 9.50

SWITCHBLADE "2006" CD (cyclop - on Switchblade's fourth album, the
Swedish three-piece evokes a monolithic sludgy aura with a sound which is
shimmering with harsh resonance. What draws these two numbered, yet
nameless tracks together is a shared sense of deconstructed momentum and an
oppressive, crushing heaviness which is nonetheless executed with a
certain degree of melodic decorum and manages to somehow be graceful in
its sloth. Adding to the bleakness and beauty of this album is the guest
vocals by "E" of Watain and Mattias Friberg of Logh.) 13.00

UNBROKEN "It's Getting Tougher To Say The Right Things" CD (Indecision
Records- Unbroken were one of the most influential bands of their genre
and this release displays the scope of their five year existence. The
definitive collection from their humble beginning to their bitter sweet
end, including all their 7"s and compilation recordings.) 12.50

UNBROKEN "the death of true spirit" CD (indescision records After
several years of being unavailable, both of Unbroken's full length releases,
'Life.Love.Regret' and 'Ritual', have been re-mastered and re-packaged
with new artwork. Heralded as the band that put San Diego on the map,
Unbroken were one of the pioneers who helped blur the line between metal
and hardcore in the early '90s.) 12.50

these truly classic recordings, allowing them to rage forth with a
level of aural intensity many never thought possible. Deathwish is proud to
offer both albums packaged together in one breathtaking 2xLP color

Bannon, this stunning combined release also features original artwork from
