7“
7000 DYING RATS “forced boat” 7” (scenester credentials - 7000 Dying Rats' brand of comedic grindcore can be summed up with many key marketable terms; diversified, mitigating, volatile, efficient, etc. When explaining the 7KDR sound to an unnamed photographer, screamer Toney Vast-Binder explained, "we kinda sound like this pizza that I'm eating, I guess you can classify us as garbage grind". The group’s penchant for delivering extremely eclectic music while holding on to their comedic roots has confusingly scored the group a well-attentive audience (blood) thirsty for a new record.) 4.00
AMANDA WOODWARD Meurt La Soif 7" (level plane - This is the first new Amanda Woodward release in over 2 years. A brand new 2 song 7" primarliy released for their tour to Russia in April/May. The A side is Amanda Woodward at their finest playing their brand of driving French hardcore. The B side is moodier piece that explores a slightly new realm for Amanda Woodward. A powerful song that absolutely kicks ass. This record is all the first recording with their new drummer. It also features awesome artwork by Keith Rosson. Limited to 500 pieces in the US.) 4.50
AUSSITOT MORT/ BALBOA split 7“ (forge again - The sixth record in the Forge Again split 7" series, this split features the latest tracks from Balboa (Philadelphia) and Aussitot Mort (France). Balboa plays chaotic melodic hardcore with political lyrics, reminiscent of Majority Rule, Engine Down, and the City of Caterpillar. Aussitot Mort is similar, yet a bit more subdued, with a brand new 12" EP out on Level Plane. Two excellent tracks from Balboa and one from AM. Layout by Jackson Cavanaugh.) 4.50
BAYONETTES „same“ 7“ (deranged - Keeping with the tradition of a solid punk and hardcore scene in Toronto, The Bayonettes present their second single and first for Deranged Records. These two girls and two guys love early '80s punk and do their best to replicate the sounds of the early LA bands, with sharp female vocals and catchy hooks.) 4.50
COLD WAR/ WAR HUNGRY "Split" 7" (six feet under - Over the last two years Cold World have practically brought an ice age to hardcore with their brand of hardcore that falls somewhere between Mobb Deep and the Cro-Mags. War Hungry feature Alex Russin of Cold World on guitar, they offer up a couple of songs of cynical, apocalyptic hardcore drawing influence from Entombed and Integrity (in the vocal department). Featuring a fold-out cover that's fit to hang up in your bedroom with portraits by Robby Redcheeks.) 4.50
DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR / BLACK FRIDAY '29 "SPLIT" 7" (bridge 9 - Death Before Dishonor return with two brand new tracks and share this release with Europe's Black Friday '29. After the release of "Friends Family Forever", Death Before Dishonor has spent the last two years touring the world, with other infamous acts such as Terror, Agnostic Front and more. This marks the first studio tracks that Death Before Dishonor has released in two years and there's no way around the anger and power that Death Before Dishonor has become known for worldwide. Black Friday '29 is Germany's up and coming act featuring 3 songs that are a great introduction to this band that has taken Europe's scene by storm. The United States is next and these are the first 3 songs released on American shores before they head over to the U.S. this winter) 5.00.
DOWN TO NOTHING „higher learning“ 7“ (revelation - Down To Nothing bring their high energy, fast paced sound to "Higher Learning," their Revelation debut. This vinyl only EP helps to redefine their sound, building on crunchy guitars and finding a distinct melody to frame their sound. The record not only showcases two brand new songs from Down To Nothing, but also a cover of their Richmond forefathers Four Walls Falling "Burn It!", featuring guest vocals by the singer of Four Walls, Taylor Steele.) 4.50
FUCKED UP "Triumph Of Life" 7" (jade tree - Originally released in the UK only, this single is set to see the light of day in the rest of the world and is to be a precursor for the upcoming full length Fucked Up is recording for Jade Tree.) 4.50
L ANTIETAM/ FURNACE split 7“ (ehp - This split teams up two of New Hampshire's most promising DIY bands. Furnace blast out agitated, riff-driven, thrashing hardcore punk, with explosive, loud, heavy and destructive songs that may bring to mind "Fifteen Counts Of Arson"-era His Hero Is Gone mixed with the epic parts of Backstabbers Inc. L'Anteitam present their heaviness with a more mid-'90s screamo approach, taking cues from Orchid. All 7"s have hand-painted covers and come on colored vinyl. 4.00
LORDS / IN TONGUES "Split" 7" (hyperrealist - Lords (Jade Tree Records) contribute one new song of their angry, loud and gritty rock as well as a blazing cover of Suicidal Tendencies' "You Can't Bring Me Down" for good measure. In Tongues (ex-members of Kodan Armada) balance out the split with two tracks of heartfelt and mature post hardcore falling somewhere between Majority Rule and At The Drive In.) 4.50
MASTODON "Capillarian Crest" 7" (reprise/ relapse - "Capillarian Crest" is the first single from "Blood Mountain", Mastodon's third full length. This 7" is numbered, includes a poster, and contains a live version of "Crystal Skull" on the B-side.) 7.50
NARWHAL „same“ 7” (strictly no capital letters - london's screamy emo meisters deliver three tunes of searing emotive hc, this is clearly one for those reared on closure and portraits of past, when screaming all over your music didn't instantly mean you sounded like orchid.) 3.50
OWEN HEART "same" 7" (dood records - he Emerald City of Seattle's Owen Hart are a grinding-hardcore outfit that shows no mercy and takes no prisoners. The band contains current and former members of Barricade, The Helm, Greyskull, Sidetracked and others and play a hybrid of music that mixes bands like Backstabbers Inc., Pig Destroyer and Cursed. The vinyl is a one-sided 7" with the two tracks on the A-side and a painting on the B-side.) 4.00
PISSED JEANS "Don't Need Smoke To Make Myself Disappear" 7" (SUB POP - After multiple releases on Parts Unkown, Pissed Jeans are set to release an LP for Sub Pop, with this 7" being a precursor to that record. On this 7" are two tracks of Jesus Lizard and Flipper-styled scumbag punk rock and roll with more feedback than humanly possible.) 4.50
RED SPAROWES/ MADE OUT OF BABIES/ BATTLE OF MICE "Triad" 3x7" (NEUROT -
This three-way split features Red Sparowes, Made Out of Babies and Battle of Mice, all of whom have recorded material for Neurot Recordings. Red Sparowes have a full length and split with Gregor Samsa under their belt and contain members of both Neurosis and Isis. Battle of Mice features Josh from Red Sparowes and Neurosis as well as a member of Made Out of Babies. Now available on vinyl!) 12.00
RITES, the "Fuck Em If They Can't Take A Joke" 7" (six feet under - The Rites return with three originals and a classic cover that may surprise you, as well as a lineup change, moving Jeff Berman of The Boils to guitar. Featuring ex-members of Tear It Up and Bones Brigade, The Rites play the sort of fast hardcore that could be expected of them with a pedigree like that, but bring more classic punk and snotty rock'n'roll influences to the table.) 4.50
10“
SHERMER/THE MACHINES WILL TAKE OVER split 10” (strictly no capital letters –back in stock - both bands bring the beard as they gruff their way through two top notch sides of melodic hardcore / punk, playing at the rawer end of the hot water music / small brown bike spectrum. you will grow a beard just listening to this.) 9.50
WAIFLE "and the Blood Will Come Down Like A Curtain" 10" (magister ludi - With this release, Waifle obliterates the raw, live sound of their previous work, and goes straight for the jugular. A super thick, ultra-heavy sound, with harsh, gruff and impassioned vocals. Gone are the metaphors, as Waifle seems to have chosen a more direct route with their lyrics. Early reviews match Waifle's efforts against the level of Botch and His Hero is Gone, while carving out their own niche. This CD incorporates a sweeping, emotional pitch with a heavily triumphant overtone that ends in victorious satisfaction. The packaging is equally impressive, creating a compelling audio/visual experience.) 10.50
LP
ANOTHER BREATH „mill city“ LP (rivalry – Mill City is a 15 chapter tale of a mind on the familiar quest for life's meaning. Departing on a journey with destination unknown, Another Breath has successfully captured so much of the familiar raw emotion that comes from our personal struggle to ultimately find our own place in the world. Confusion, regret, anger, fear, loneliness, self doubt - it's all here, compiled in a sort of chronological order that seems so familiar, finally putting the words and music to so many days, nights, weeks, and months that we've all endured. Serving as the next step in a natural progression from the band's "Not Now, Not Ever" EP (Rivalry Records, June 2004), this album is a step up in every way. With matured song writing, driving intensity, and focused lyrical content, Another Breath has transcended the hardcore norm, pulling influence from good 'ol fashion punk rock, rock ÔnÕ roll, and contemporary hardcore, creating an album that stands apart from the pack. With musical and vocal remnants of past and present peers American Nightmare, Suicide File, and Modern Life Is War, the band has truly built upon the inspirations of the past and written their own chapter for inspiration in the future.) 12.00
AUSSITOT MORT "S/T" 12" (level plane - This 4 song 12" features the songs from Aussitot Mort's initial demo CD release - they were just too good to never see the light of day on vinyl. So Level Plane is releasing this in a one-time run of 500 12"s with nice, huge fold-over covers printed by Creative Panic. With two guys in the rhythm section also doing time in Amanda Woodward, it seems natural they would share a similar sound and vibration as their countrymen. This is powerful, driving French hardcore similar to current bands like Daitro and Amanda Woodward.) 10.50
BETRAYED „substance“ LP (rivalry – If there's any band that can incite a circle pit or inspire the kids to raise their fists and mosh till they can mosh no more, it's certainly Betrayed. If there's any band that plays hardcore from the heart, it's definitely Betrayed, who are newly signed to Equal Vision and are armed with a brand new album, the fittingly titled "Substance".) 12.50
BLACK HELL "Deformers Of The Universe" LP (HATER OF GOD - Their debut full length "Deformers Of The Universe" is seven tracks of bleak doom with enough apathy and bitterness to keep even the most jaded listeners interested. No strangers to abrasive music, the members that comprise Black Hell put in hard time in some of Arizona's truly infamous bands (Unruh, Wellington). For fans of Black Sabbath, Eyehategod and High On Fire.) 12.50
BORIS „pink“ 2xLp (souther lord –we finally got our parcel and they are on PINK wax - It's tempting to describe this music in terms of destruction, of tornado winds and falling trees, crumbling buildings and cement filling your lungs. Darkness. But then pink is not a dark color, and the bliss with which this Japanese trio creates their mayhem is as appealing as an easter egg. This record is shelved between some of the most life-hating, nihilistic records ever made, and for all it's squall and snarl, it definitely belongs in the metal section, but the delight with which they play makes Boris stand apart. Kind of like you're being buried alive, but the guys doing it are laughing the whole time.) 19.00
BURIED INSIDE "iconoclast" lp (relapse - VINYL VERSION BACK IN STOCK! buried inside explode forth with their Relapse debut "chronoclast". Combining aggression with melody to create a style of sleek, metallic hardcore, which combines union of Uranus with godspeed! You black emeperor at points. Produced by Matt Bayles (mastodon, these arms are snakes, the blood brothers). 15.00
CALIFORNIA LOVE "s/t" LP (DIY - A side project of sorts of members of Look Back And Laugh, Oakland's California Love play ripping powerviolence/'80s grind with blasting drums and distorted vocals and just enough sludge. These records are surely not going to be around forever.) 12.50
CANCER KIDS, the "The Possible Dream" LP (youth attack - The Cancer Kids is ex-members of the legendary cult Bucket Full Of Teeth, and was produced by genious Will Killingsworth of Orchid/Bucket Full Of Teeth/Ampere glory. The record itself is made up of eighteen blazing songs of thrashy powerviolence but with stunning musicianship and powerful vocals. Limited to 700 copies.) 13.00
CELEBRITY MURDERS "Time To Kill Space" LP (reptillian - This 17-song debut is a product of their relentless live shows and frenzied rehearsals in a city that won't let you sleep. The music is heavy, fast and ugly: like NY, the city they still call home. Their cover is a custom piece from Rev. Kevin Slaughter of the Church of Satan that reinforces the disturbing nature of the music that's recorded. NYC is falling apart, here's the soundtrack.) 12.00
CITY OF CATERPILLAR "S/T" LP (Excellent and strong drumming combined with creative song writing and gutwrenching screams all come together to make for a frantic, schizophrenic sound. Powerful, arty, and crazed all rolled into one cocoon. Ryan Parish, of Darkest Hour, performs drum duties on this release.) 11.00

FIRST BLOOD "Killafornia" LP (dead serious - First Blood features Carl Schwartz, formerly of Terror, on vocals and they plan to crush the world with the devastating sounds of "Killafornia." Imported from Germany and on colored vinyl. New from Dead Serious Records.) 11.50
GORILLA BISCUITS "start today“ LP (revelation – you know what it is all about) 11.00
HIMSA "Hail Horror" LP (prosthetic - Hailing from the streets of Seattle, Himsa's continually evolving, but forever heavy sound is probably more fitting for the rain capital of the United States than any other Seattleities before them. Where many a day day are dark, gloomy, and soaking wet, Himsa's music, whether coincidentally or not just reflects the city's dreary atmosphere. "Hail Horror", the follow up to 2003's critically acclaimed Courting Tragedy And Disaster, very much continues in that vein.) 14.00
HOT SNAKES "Thunder Down Under" LP (SWAMI - Hot Snakes, one of the biggest bands on Swami, consisted of members from Rocket From The Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, Blackheart Procession, Beehive and the Barracudas. Album caught on tape in Australia at Triple J for Radio Broadcast, recorded by Grammy nominee Greg Wales (Radio Birdman, You Am I). All recordings unreleased (some songs appear in different form on past records). These are the last studio recordings before the band broke up.) 10.00
HUNDRED YEARS OF WAR "the lidless eye" LP (magister ludi - Metal rules. If you like old Neurosis, you will like this. If you like to dance to harcore, ditto. The Hundred Years War are no more. They played outside of Arkansas only 2 or 3 times. Chip played guitar and sings for the band. He used to be in Full Service Quartet and Generation of Vipers and he currently hails from Philadelphia, where he plays with the Body (yes, that is a band). Clay played guitar, lead I suppose. He used to play in William Martyr 17, and he currently plays in Shake Ray Turbine, though you would not know it. Interstate bands are hard, believe me I know, and I only had to drive one state over. Clay also played in Modular with Jason. Jason played drums and apparetly likes to spend time in Kansas City. He now plays with Tyco. Adam played bass and does those awesome second vocals on the last song. The record was recorded at Progressive Studios in January of 1998 and mastered by the illustrious John Golden. No colored vinyl on this one, but it is on 180 gram vinyl, which is really damn thick, and actually related to quality, as opposed to pretty colors, so try not to whine. The only song not available on the record is "Empty Socket," which will be appearing on the "Working Sucks" compilation scheduled to appear sometime on Old Glory Records. 500 pressed. this is some copies we found .. hell yeah) 11.00
JOHNNY CASH „american V - a hundred highways" LP (american recordings - In the months leading up to his passing on September 12, 2003, JOHNNY CASH had been recording new material with producer Rick Rubin. On July 4, 2006, American V: A Hundred Highways, the all-new Johnny Cash album taken from those sessions, will be released on the American Recordings label through Lost Highway. It will include the last song Cash ever wrote, "Like the 309". ) 14.00
KAYO DOT "Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue" 2xLP (robotic empire – back ins tock
Massachusetts' eight-piece "avant-metal" outfit Kayo Dot follow up their much-heralded 2003 debut (on John Zorn's Tzadik label) with their Robotic Empire debut, "Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue". These five tracks (spanning 60+ minutes) delve into the myriad depths that heavy music can attain, but reach far beyond into the vast realms of ambience. Now available on double LP format with a gatefold cover. New from Robotic Empire.) 18.00
KAYO DOT/ BLOODY PANDA split LP (hloy roar - this is a limited split LP on colored wax on this new british label - Boston’s Kayo Dot, with albums on Tzadik and Robotic Empire, cover a vast and mostly indefinable ground, with everything from orchestrated epic jazz to noise and doom thrown into the mix. Their 11 minute track was recorded for, and is excusive to, this release. New York’s Bloody Panda contribute two tracks (19 minutes) that combine funeral sludge with female chanting and Eastern influences to create something utterly menacing but at the same time completely enthralling. Comes on marbled vinyl in a gatefold sleeve, with incredible artwork by Toby Driver of Kayo Dot.) 13.50
LANDMINE MARATHON "wounded" LP (level plane - Formed in late 2004 in the sun-scorched desert of Arizona, the five members of Landmine Marathon play thrashy grindcore that recalls the early days of Earache Records. Their first full length, Wounded combines ultra heavy riff loaded guitars and punishing rhythms that alternate between maniacal blur and choke-the-life-out-of you slowness, all crowned by Grace's gender blurring vocal onslaught. Fans of Bolt Thrower, Terroizer, Daughters, Ed Gein and Assuck will soon be suffering from a case of headbanger's neck. Woundedwas recorded by Ryan Butler @ Arcane Digital (Impaled, North Side Kings) and mastered by Dave Shirk @ Sonorus (Mastadon, Converge, Nasum). 11.00
JR EWING "Maelstrom" picture LP (coaliton - JR Ewing is an internationally acclaimed band, known for their extreme musical ambitions. With suicidal intensity, JR Ewing has been spreading their music through hundreds of shows around the globe, touring with bands such as The Locust, The Mars Volta and Pretty Girls Make Graves to name a few. "Maelstrom" combines the uncompromising sound of ...Trail Of Dead with the insanity of The Blood Brothers and the free spirit of a band like Refused. JR Ewing proves again to walk their own path with few bands in their league that can top them!) 15.00
MIKA MIKO "C.Y.S.L.A.B.F." LP (ppm – bakc in stock - This five-piece female punk outfit from LA pound their way through interesting, fast pop songs, creating an image of a high school dance where Red Kross, Black Flag, X-Ray Spex, The Slits, and The Germs are all playing, with an updated flare of excitement and anxiousness. They've opened for the likes of The Gossip, The Moving Units, Gravy Train, XBXRX, and Deerhoof. New from Kill Rock Stars.) 10.00
MONO& worlds end girlfriend "palmless/ mass murder refrain" 2xLP (temporary residence - Just before recording their epic disasterpiece "You Are There," MONO began collaborating with fellow Tokyo native and modern electronic composer world's end girlfriend. The result is a five-part sojourn of neoclassical grace and luminescence that defies lazy categorization. As dark as the bottom of the ocean, and nearly as otherworldly, "Palmless Prayer/Mass Murder Refrain" finds MONO inhabiting a magical world previously only hinted at in their most orchestral compositions. we got COLORED vinyl - one LP is clear/smoke and one is yellow) 16.00
PIL (PUBLIC IMAGE LMT) METAL BOX 3xLP (4 men w/ beard - ..The second album by John Lydon’s post-Sex Pistols outing Public Image Ltd. was originally released in the UK in 1979 in a limited edition film canister style metal box containing three twelve-inch 45s. Some managed to
float across the Atlantic into the hands of a fortunate few, making the Metal Box a bit of a post-punk collectors’ holy grail. Unavailable for almost 30 years, the Metal Box is back with the express permission of John Lydon as an exact reproduction of the original Remastered for better sound
than the 1979 vinyl.) 38 euro
PINK EYE "Worldwide Columbine“ 12“ (Slasher Records - presents the 12" repress of the currently out-of-print notorious Pinkeye 7". The band is comprised of the guitar player/songwriter of Career Suicide and vocalist of Fucked Up, with the music being no surprise as to it's sound: fast, raw early-'80s hardcore punk with influences from Poison Idea and early COC.) 10.50
REDS ? Is:Means LP (pure pain sugar/ ape must not kill/ clean plate – FINALLY THE VINYL IS READY TO GO - Following up their widely-praised demo, REDS debut LP "is:means" tears onto the scene with 10 songs of unrelenting hardcore with a rock-n-roll lining. Take a bit of 90s "emotional" hardcore (people have suggested Former Members of Alfonsin, Moss Icon, Cornelius
) and add some head nodding rock riffs and you'll start to get the idea. The songs fly along at furious speeds, rarely letting up, and never losing their furor. The lyrics, mostly shouted and screamed but occasionally sung, strive to pointedly connect the personal and political - showing clear anger and frustration yet never letting go of positivity and optimism. Always on the verge of falling into chaos, REDS manages to hold it all together and focus their energy into a roaring collection of passion and intensity. Waking Records' profits from this record will go towards relief and rebuilding efforts for the impoverished victims of Hurricane Katrina in my (Evan - Waking Records guy and vocalist for REDS) home state of Louisiana. Screenprinted covers) 10.00
REPOS, the "Hearts And Heads Explode" LP (youth attack - Chicago's The Repos, which contain members of Charles Bronson and Das Oath, self-destruct with their second raging LP, clocking in at 11 minutes and 36 seconds over 19 songs. Burly vocals and fast three-chord riffs run throughout this record, which make it a good fit on Youth Attack, but would also fit in well on the Gloom Records Roster.) 14.00
STRIKE ANYWHERE "Dead FM" LP (fat wreck - After three years of waiting, "Dead FM" is a much-anticipated follow-up to "Exit English," with the band taking that time to hone their skills while touring alongside bands like Anti-Flag and Rise Against. On this recording, Richmond VA's Strike Anywhere worked with Brian McTernan to continue their anthemic punk rock sing-a-longs mixed with hardcore urgency and plenty of melody and politics.) 10.50
TUSK"Get Ready" LP Color (Now available on colored vinyl! Avant, progged out, psych' helicopter grind. This is what started it all. Before there was Pelican there was Tusk, comprised of 3/4 Pelican. Get ready for one hell of a ride. This release was remastered, contains bonus tracks, and has new artwork by Arron Turner of ISIS. Tusk is still an active band and will be spazzing throughout the country in 2006.) 12.50
VERSOMA "life during wartime" LP (robotic empire - The influence of independent and alternative music's celebrated past is undeniable on VERSOMA's six-track, 18-minute debut EP... but with plenty of aggression and passion retained from years in the punk/metal/hardcore underground. With members having done time in LICKGOLDENSKY, ANODYNE, HOT CROSS, ORCHID and more, one might expect chaotic screaming madness, but (fortunately) this is a wall of guitars mixed with desperate, wailing and haunting vocals; darkness mixed with simplistic genius, and the manic quality control of three different label owners involved. Recorded at Translator Audio with band-member Mike Hill and mastered at West West Side by Alan Douches, the first sonic offering from VERSOMA is an exciting step towards uncharted audio territories, and an excellent indication of things to come.) 11.00
WAIFLE "The Music Stops, The Man Dies" LP (magister ludi - Fresh off the heels of being voted "Best New Band of 1998" by readers of HeartattaCk magazine, Waifle entered the studio in the middle of their 1998 Summer Tour to record their first full-length. Their efforts produced a very raw, emotive, and highly opinionated record that served to boost the mystique of the band to yet another level. Combining the urgency of bands like Frail and Swing Kids with stark, contrasting heavy-to-delicate interludes, this record showed that Waifle was here to stay. Often described as a "more challenging" Boy Sets Fire. the LP comes in a one of the greatest packingings I have ever seen. You are always scared to destroy it. cardboard see through paper .. OMG. we found some copies .. so this is your chance) 12.00
WHITE STRIPES s/t lp (v2) - “Minimal to the point of sounding monumental, this Detroit guitar-drums-voice duo makes the most of its aesthetic choices and the spaces between riffage and the big beat. In fact, the White Stripes sound like arena rock as hand-crafted in the attic. Singer/guitarist Jack White's voice is a singular, evocative combination of punk, metal, blues, and backwoods while his guitar work is grand and banging with just enough lyrical touches of slide and subtle solo work to let you know he means to use the metal-blues riff collisions just so. Drummer Meg White balances out the fretwork and the fretting with methodical, spare, and booming cymbal, bass drum, and snare cracks. In a word, economy (and that goes for both of the players). The Whites' choice of covers is inspired, too. J. White's voice is equally suited to the task of tackling both the desperation of Robert Johnson's "Stop Breakin' Down" and the loneliness of Bob Dylan's "One More Cup of Coffee." Neither are equal to the originals, but they take a distinctive, haunting spin around the turntable nevertheless. All D.I.Y. punk-country-blues-metal singer/songwriting duos should sound this good.” – Chris Handyside) 13.50
WHITE STRIPES “elephant” 2xlp (v2 – “White Blood Cells may have been a reaction to the amount of fame the White Stripes had received up to the point of its release, but, paradoxically, it made full-fledged rock stars out of Jack and Meg White and sold over half a million copies in the process. Despite the White Stripes' ambivalence, fame nevertheless seems to suit them: They just become more accomplished as the attention paid to them increases. Elephant captures this contradiction within the Stripes and their music; it's the first album they've recorded for a major label, and it sounds even more pissed-off, paranoid, and stunning than its predecessor. Darker and more difficult than White Blood Cells, the album offers nothing as immediately crowd-pleasing or sweet as "Fell in Love With a Girl" or "We're Going to Be Friends," but it's more consistent, exploring disillusionment and rejection with razor-sharp focus.” – Heather Phares) 16.50
WILLIAM ELLIOT WHITMORE – Song of the blackbird ltd.LP + songbook (southern – country as fuck) 15.00
WINDMILLS BY THE OCEAN "same" LP (robotic empire - WINDMILLS BY THE OCEAN is the title of a recently unearthed recording from August 2003, the sole output of Boston natives Mike Davis, Dave Dunbar, Brooke Gillespie, Bryant Clifford Meyer and Thos Niles. Since the project's beginning and end, the creators have continued on in such bands as 27, ANODYNE, ISIS, and RED SPAROWES, but the relevancy of this intense recording can be most appreciated now, three years after it's conception. The variety and depth to this (mostly) instrumental music documentation reaches far beyond those of any mere side-project, and the heavy-music genres are in dire need of something this refreshing. These rock-based songs incorporate so many elements of "drone" the group could almost reside next to their celestial forefathers SUNN and EARTH, except with more melody... and drums. However, the usage of keyboard and electronic elements alongside several guitars make the album more comparable to SIGUR ROS than BLACK SABBATH, but without compromising any of the heavy metal elements the members have become most-known for.)11.00
WOODEN WAND AND THE SKY HIGH BAND „second attention“ LP (kill rock starts - ..Pretty much a solo album this time. Amazing. Equal parts Dylan, Young and Neil Haggarty…people are liking this one more than last one...) 13.50
V/A EMO APOCALYPSE picture disc lp (react with protest – this lp features fourty-one bands on a one-sided picture LP, all of the bands are doing thirty second songs. Featured on the comp are funeral diner, a day in black and white, cease upon the capitol, the critic, and more. Back in stock) 9.00

CORRUPTED „ Llenandose de Gusanos“ 2xCD (HG FACT - JAPANAESE IMPORT -- By having two hour-long songs, one of extreme hellish doom-core (albeit with a 17-minute classical piano intro) and one of near-ambience, Corrupted marked themselves out as not only operating on the boundaries of rock music, but also of music in general.) 19.00
CORRUPTED „el mundo frio“ CD (HG FACT - JAPANESE IMPORT -- Holy christ. The new Corrupted CD is epic in both sound and packaging. I apologize for the high cost of this CD, but the packaging is over the top and stunning. This CD comes packaged in a perfect bound hardcover Digipak with an enormous booklet full of stark black & white landscape photos and a foil stamped cover. Worth it alone for the packaging. The music is 1 long epic track. "Boris may be the drone dirge darlings right now, but we've always had a soft spot for their more obscure countrymen Corrupted. Where Boris revel in cartoonish imagery, seventies kitsch, eighties heavy metal, bell bottoms, double neck guitars, and balls out rock and roll, Corrupted lurk in the shadows, sullen and distanced, weary and wary, crusty and curmudgeonly, wrapped in mystery, each record printed in stark black and white, a Japanese band singing exclusively in Spanish strangely enough, who are obliquely political, and much more grim and gloomy than Boris at their droniest. SORRY FOR THE PRICE) 28.50
CORRUPTED „ Se Hace Or Los Suenos Asesinos CD“ (HG FACT - JAPANESE IMPORT - Long awaited new full length from the masters of Japanese sludge metal, Corrupted. This 35 minute disc opens with a 17 minute track of jet-black folk, as an acoustic guitar is strummed hypnotically against evil whispered vocals and nightmarish chants/grunts, in Spanish. A beautiful lullaby sung by vengeful warrior spirits. The second track, 'Rato Triste', erupts into a creeping mudslide of suffocating demonic sludge riff and Hevi's torn-throat utterances and gigantic droning feedback and bowel-loosening bass frequencies. The final track, 'Sus Futuros', picks up immediately, with a mid-tempo battle riff that would give the Melvins a run for their money, as drummer Chew flails on his drumkit, smashing everything within reach to pieces, while the band lurches forward like a satanic behemoth drenched in hot tar.) 17.00
DAUGHTERS "Hell Songs" CD (hydra head - Rhode Island's Daughters practically invented sass-grind on their previous 7" and full length on Robotic Empire. "Hell Songs" is a cacophony of screaming guitars and blast-beat drums with heavy chugging breakdowns, with the band taking their clever attitudes on the road with them on seemingly non-stop tours.) 14.00
DEAD HEARTS "BITTER VERSES" CD (ferret - Dead Hearts may be the closest in sound to the beginning roots of punk/hardcore that Ferret has ever released. After sharing the stage with bands like 7 Seconds, Agnostic Front and Slapshot, the band has definitely lived out their high school hardcore fantasy. Before you label Dead Hearts an old school revival project, you should know that the group is a modern hardcore band. A band that is raw, discordant and punk at heart but not afraid to reference metal and rock in their sound. The 14 songs on "Bitter Verses" hit like a sledgehammer to your chest - passionate and real hardcore delivered with an unmatched conviction.) 13.50
DISCORDANCE AXIS/ CORRUPTED/ 324 „three way split“ CD (HG FACT - JAPANESE IMPORT - heavy hitting threesome team up for some out of control madness here! Discordance axis provide their last two songs ever on this three way split. One song is an excellent grind/thrash attack while the other song is a droney noise piece. Corrupted provide two songs, which combine clock under 20 minutes (keep in mind that their last release was a 2xcd of one song!). Good awesome sludge with lyrics in mexican. And last, but not least, 324 tear it up with three awesome tokyo style thrash tunes.) 12.00
THE HOPE CONSPIRACY "DEATH KNOWS YOUR NAME" CD (deathwish - The Hope Conspiracy are back after a four year silence. "Death Knows Your Name" was recorded and engineered by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Modern Life Is War) at Godcity Studios. "Death Knows Your Name" marks the first recorded appearance of Tim Cossar (Give Up The Ghost, Bars) with Hope Con, as well as the return of guitarist Neeraj Kane (The Suicide File) to the song writing fold. "Death Knows Your Name" is a stark and mesmerizing chapter in The Hope Conspiracy legacy. From the haunting first notes of "They Know Not", to the earth shaking power of "Stolen Days" the unforgiving heaviness and rage of the album is awe inspiring. The songs lunge and writhe with immeasurable emotion and inner turmoil like all great art does. Serving as a true amalgamation of their classic "piss and vinegar" approach and a new found epic maturity.) 13.50
JR EWING "Maelstrom" CD (dim mak - JR Ewing is an internationally acclaimed band, known for their extreme musical ambitions. JR Ewing proves again to walk their own path with few bands in their league that can top them! New from Dim Mak Records.) 13.50

PHOENIX BODIES "Raise The Bullshit Flag" CD (holy roar - After countless splits and comps, Indiana's Phoenix Bodies have finally graced us with their debut full-length recording. As with previous releases, every style under the massive umbrella of "heavy music" is perfectly mashed together to give the listener an experience comparable to bare knuckles pressed against a belt sander, mixing elements of Converge with bands like Orchid and Usurp Synapse. In an age where too few bands are saying anything worth hearing, this album is more than 10 tracks of blistering music; it's also a grand calling out of pretty much the entire human race.) 10.00
POUND FOR POUND "For Our Fallen Brothers" CD (surprise attack - After forming in 1999, Pound For Pound have been working hard to spread their take no shit attitude and bleak outlook on life, complete with a soundtrack of brutal, no nonsense hardcore. Heavy and to the point angst filled music for fans of Agnostic Front, Merauder, Skarhead, 100 Demons, & Sick of it All. The 2nd full length from these Illinois heavyweights and features 11 songs clocking in at almost 28 minutes. New from Surprise Attack Records (SA Mob).) 12.00
RAEIN/ LHASA/ DAITRO „the harsh words at the sun“ 3way split CD (oto records - A 3 way split CD by three emotional Screamo / HC bands RAEIN (ITALY) / LHASA (JAPAN) / daitro (FRANCE). SPARROWS SWARM AND SING "Untitled II" CD (perpetual motion machine - The triumphant and haunting 2005 debut album from New England's post-rock collective, SPARROWS SWARM AND SING. Previously only available on LP (Gatehouse Anchor Records), the band has assembled stunning new artwork and unique, die-cut and screenprinted packaging for this special edition CD release. "Untitled No. 2" features three seamless, epic tracks spanning over 30 minutes. For fans of GODSPEED YOU BLACK EMPEROR, MONO and RED SPAROWES – all packed in beautiful screenprinted cradboard covers – to make this limited CD unique – GREAT. New album will be on MAGIC BULLET later this year) 11.00
SPAROWES SWARM AND SING „"O'Shenandoah Mighty Death Will Find Me" CD (magic bullet – this is the new album and it is also Sparrows Swarm And Sing's debut release for Magic Bullet, and is four songs clocking in at over an hour, beautifully bringing together the guitars of Explosions In The Sky with the orchestration of Godpseed You Black Emperor.) 12.50
SUNN o)) „white one“ CD (southern lord – SUNN 0))) is a side project of Khanate/Burning Witch (Steve O' Malley) and Goatsnake (Greg Anderson) members. It was formed in memory of the cult drone-riff founders EARTH and honors the beautiful Ozma. The SUNN0))) mission is to create trance like soundscapes with the ultimate low end/bottom frequencies intended to massage the listeners intenstines into a act of defecation. SUNN 0))) have gathered 2x for live performances, at which they have succesfully made audience members instantly nauseous, or better yet run for the toilet in terror. "White 1" is the fourth sunn0))) full length.) 15.00
SUNN O)) „white two“ CD (southern lord - “white 2” is the fifth full length offering by sunn0))). For those not familiar sunn0))) is the unholy partnership of Stephen o’malley (khanate) and greg Anderson (goatsnake). “white 2” is sunn0))) blackest fruit yet. This is profound music for those beyond burnout, for those wishing to lick the void, for those who want to kill time dead or just step outside of it for a while. There are three epic tracks on this cd.) 15.00
SUNN o)) flight of the behemoth CD (southern lord - More industrial mechanics than whooooo! haunting. Sounds positively innocent next to White 1 and 2 and Black One. It's big and solid and droning and it feels like a big slab of sonic lead slowly descending on your head. Enormous guitar (and not much else) heavily distorted; and a discordant piano on "O)))Bow 1" and "O)))Bow 2" giving it a strange, vaguely human nature. But it's devoid of demonic qawwali or spectral ruminations, the emphasis lies almost solely on huge, noisy, fuzzing...stuff.) 15.00
