UNBROKEN ( US / Three One G, New Age Records )

UNBROKEN was (and still is) a monumental band from San Diego, CA. Before you label them as a hardcore band, as straight edge, as musicians, you have to know that they were what punk is. A band like UNBROKEN, hands down, could take any other band in its genre, subculture, or class. Politically, emotionally, and with such sincerity, they were the soundtrack to our life, love, and regret.

In the space of a year, Veils have achieved more than their young existence ought to allow; a debut EP so highly sought after it earned 5 represses, a follow up ‘Clarity’ which was released through one of the UK’s most respected independent labels Tangled Talk Records and over 100 shows played all over Europe and the U.K.

All of this is testament to what lies at the core of the band; a need for personal liberation and a drive to find freedom through music. The result? Emotion and feeling given shape through song, and unleashed through intense, painfully raw performances which convince whether live or on record. A captivating blend of fury and catharsis, in a short space of time Veils have deservedly become one of the most talked about bands in UK hardcore, and 2012 is surely theirs’ for the taking.
